Open MRI Centre of Cardiff

MedTel opened the first open MRI scanner in Wales in 2001. Unlike ordinary MRI scanners, it offers an easily accessible alternative to claustrophobic tunnels. Open on three sides, the new technology is particularly useful in examining sports injuries as it allows joints to be studied in any position.
