Neurography
MR Neurography - A new window on unexplained pain.
Over the last 25 years, the continual evolution of Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging has allowed the medical profession to find new ways of diagnosing and treating difficult clinical problems.
Unexplained limb pain has been a good example of a difficult to treat condition. This is often because the cause of the pain is obscure. This has been linked with the absence of a test that reliably images the primary structures involved, namely the nerves. This has all changed. The improvement in the imaging capability of MR machines and their reconstruction computers means that nerves can now be clearly visualised and displayed.
Using specific scan protocols and imaging planes, MedTel International can now offer a full MR Neurography service. Complex anatomical areas such as the Brachial Plexus and the Lumbosacral Plexus can now be interrogated. Furthermore, sites of limb trauma can be evaluated for evidence of nerve damage.
MR Neurography offers a new and more advanced method of investigating many disorders such as:
Brachial Plexopathy
Radiation Neuritis
Scalene Syndrome
Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
Cervical Traction injuries
Post trauma pain syndromes
Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy
Piriformis Syndrome
Unexplained Sciatica
